Mr. H really needed tomorrow off in order to attend his stepson's high school graduation. I informed our DBL of this when I made the scheduling request. He prioritized our routing toward home. Drivers are generally granted only a handful of these guarantees each year.
Our routing solution had us fueling at a truck stop in Strafford, Missouri. As soon as Mr. H pulled into a fuel island a clerk came out to inform us that no fuel was available – electricity had been out for over an hour. Apparently the thunderstorm that had passed through earlier was quite rowdy.
I sent a Glympse out to my family as we neared Nixa. We were warmly welcomed home by each of our families.
