We hit the road yesterday, after a very busy time at home. I picked up our load from the Little Rock neighborhood; Mr. H delivered it to the Chicago area.
On my way down from Missouri, on Highway 65, my truck's anti-rollover countermeasures activated. I was the bewildered by this, since I wasn't going very fast and the curve wasn't very sharp. I figure it was just an awkward bump in the road. This wouldn't be worth mentioning, if it wasn't for my trucks snitching configuration. My DBL gets a CER on his computer. (Critical Event Report). It pinpoints exactly where I was and how fast I was going when the event occurred. According to policy, he is required to have a conversation with me about why it happened and how it can be prevented in the future. It's kind of like getting a complaint call from a motorist. My company could very well bring me in for remedial training to "correct" the problem. Not fun. (I've never been called in over a complaint, but one of my previous co-drivers was). Knowing that the rollover countermeasures activation was an error, I pulled over almost immediately to call my boss to explain what did (or didn't) happen. He understood & acknowledged my report. No hassles will be necessary. What a load off my mind! I'm glad my DBL is a former truck driver- he knows exactly what goes on out here & can relate to his drivers. Mr. R has been my DBL for about three years.
