The wintry weather we had anticipated for only materialized as rain. Heavy snow was expected over the mountains in eastern Oregon. Our trip-plan included 2 hours of cushion specifically for that. Since arriving more than three hours early to any given customer impacts negatively on our driver quality score, Mr. H parked at the nearby Loves Travel Plaza for a couple of hours. I got out of bed just in time to enjoy breakfast at Shari's.
We delivered our load to FedEx Ground, in Troutdale, Oregon. Both of the GPS units haven't yet been updated to reflect the section of road the truck gate is located at. It's a good thing we still rely on our own eyeballs & common sense to get to where we need to be.
Our next stop is the Portland OC. For you newbies: "OC" stands for "operating center", in Schneider jargon. We have been scheduled for routine maintenance on the tractor. Hopefully they will be able to work is in today, instead of having to linger for a full 24+ hours.
