We can gauge a good week by observing our 70-hour clock dwindling to nothing within the lawful 8 days. By the time we delivered our last load & rolled through the Atlanta OC gates, my partner had 3 hours remaining, and I had 5. We absolutely had to shut it down. Our boss also had us scheduled for routine maintenance, plus installation of a new windshield. The truck was way overdue. We caught the shuttle van to Schneider's contracted motel - Express Inn & Suites. It's an average place, but perfectly clean & comfortable. Schneider drivers get to stay for $30/ night. I booked myself in for 2 nights, even though room wouldn't be reimbursed by Schneider this time. (It's Victor's turn to be reimbursed. We don't share rooms.) My time here has been very refreshing & necessary. I didn't do as much adventuring as I usually do, but I did manage to find good food & an enjoyable movie theater experience. It's almost 2am, Saturday. One of the hotel staff will be driving me back to the Schneider yard shortly.
