My cousin, Lisa, rescued the Thanksgiving tradition for me. We had a real, family holiday meal together this past Friday evening. Both of our families are experiencing stress & change, but that evening, everything was temporarily alright. A few hours of "alrightness" can make a world of change toward good.
The following evening was spent at Incredible Pizza, with my brother, grandpa , my in-laws & my own li'l family, of course. After our bellies were full, the boys & I went over to the indoor racetrack. Hunter was finally big enough to drive his own race car. 8 years old & 50" tall. He did very well, even though I did make sure he maintained a place ahead of me & Forest. I was impressed that he precisely maneuvered his race car back into the kart corral after the 4-lap race was over.
It was good to spend more time than usual with my brother during this time at home. He is usually a state away or we are separated by my busy schedule. I finally paid him what I owed him for losing weight. He really cleaned up. As you may know, Mark has special needs & is highly motivated by money. He rapidly lost about 40 pounds after I incentivized his efforts with $5 per pound.
My last day in Nixa was extremely busy, but Forest I did manage to visit my aunt Marti & grandma Alice, who were visiting Springfield,. They live in Shawnee, Oklahoma - where my dad lives about half of the time.
These were a few of the highlights of my Thanksgiving weekend in Nixa.
