MARK GOES TO CALIFORNIA

Mark, my younger brother, is on a California adventure today. Uncle Galen and Aunt Sondra are taking Mark on various adventures around Southern California until Tuesday. Then, they will begin their car trip to Shawnee, Oklahoma.

My brother flew out of the Springfield – Branson Regional Airport yesterday afternoon, and was picked up by uncle Galen at Los Angeles international Airport a few hours later.

As some of you know, my brother is mentally disabled. He lives at home and requires a significant amount of supervision. Although he is almost 30 years old, he generally operates in the seven-year-old range, with some exceptions. Mark is special to us all. He makes life interesting and fun. There are no shortages of hysterical stories on Mark.

My parents were in near-panic yesterday afternoon, as they did not see Mark board the plane through the glass concourse. The flight crew were gracious enough to verify to my parents, that Mark had indeed been seated. It wasn't until Mark disembarked in Los Angeles that his invisibility trick was figured out. He had the flight attendants wheel him on & off the plane in a wheelchair! Since his flight ticket indicated that he was "disabled", he juiced it for all it was worth. Dad teased with Uncle Galen that he has a good accomplice for his faith-healing tricks!

During my last conversation with Mark, they were paying a visit to our old house in Imperial Beach. (that's in the San Diego area). Tomorrow, they will naturally attend church - Uncle Galen is the pastor. They have plans to attend Callie's birthday party tomorrow afternoon. (Congratulations to my cousin, Evan, for finally proposing to her). On Monday, they intend to spend the day at Disneyland. There are lots of good and memorable times ahead, that's for sure.
