SCHOOL BUS ACCIDENT
Yesterday afternoon, as I was driving down from Chicago, my trip was met with a lengthy and slow detour. I–55 was closed to all southbound traffic. Everyone had to take the Lichfield exit. About 30 minutes into the detour, we passed the scene of a significant accident. A school bus had rear ended a tractor-trailer, injuring about 10 of the bus riders, plus the driver. One girl had to be taken to St. Louis by helicopter. My mother in law relayed the news story to me; I looked up the story after my work shift had ended. It's a thankful wonder that no one lost their life.
